Description:

28 inches in overall length, with a 21 inch blade showing a very active grain pattern and a well defined straight hamon, set into a striped copper habaki. 4-lobed iron tsuba, with a single copper seppa. Black cord wrapped tsuka, with gilt accented floral pattern fuchi and gilt copper menuki. Tang is unsigned. With a black lacquer finished saya, golden silk cord and a 8 1/4 inch kogatana with a 4 3/8 inch blade and a copper handle with a raised gold accented combat scene on the side.

Rating Definition:

Very good overall. The blade shows a few thin cracks, particularly in the area of the habaki, along with some opening of the grain and minimal spotting. A few seppa are absent, and the rayskin is separating/absent in a few areas. Saya is fine, with some cracking of the wood and splitting seams. Mild spotting on the kogatana.
