Description:

This is an ornate example a flintlock pistol made for the Eastern Trade, of high enough decoration for the likes of a high ranking Chieftan. This silver mounted, ornate flintlock pistol is likely Turkish or possibly European origin. It features ornate silver scrolling throughout with gold accents, a floral pattern on the buttcap, and engraving on the top of the barrel, the lock, frizzen, and lock plate. The frizzen is marked "VIIVII" on the outside.

Rating Definition:

About good. The pistol features an aged silver patina with the silver slightly separating from the stock in some areas and small portions absent including a small section above the frizzen spring. The exposed metal surfaces show a mottled brown/gray patina with pitting.
