The Model 1903 was the first semi-automatic rifle manufactured by Winchester and was designed by T.C. Johnson. The left side of the barrel is marked with the two line address and patent information ahead of the rear sight with "MODEL 03.22 CAL. AUTOMATIC/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG. REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FCN." with the serial number on the lower receiver and front of the trigger guard. It has a tubular magazine that loads through the buttstock and holds 10 rounds of 22 Auto and has a Winchester oval proof on the top of the barrel with a "P" inside of a circle (means that it was re-barreled by factory) behind it. It features a dovetailed red bead front sight, fixed notch rear sight with red fill, button safety behind the trigger, and is mounted with a checkered forearm with steel end cap and checkered pistol grip stock with a crescent buttplate and hard rubber grip cap.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The rifle retains 60% of the original finish with finish absent on the areas of the forend cap, frame, trigger guard, and buttplate, overall some minor marks and scratches, and a gray/brown patina on the exposed ares. The forearm and stock are also fine with some minor scratches and marks. Mechanically excellent.
