Manufactured c. 1947 during the transition period (late 1945-51). The rifle has standard Winchester markings including the factory proof on the left side of the barrel and receiver at the breech and "-SUPER GRADE-" on the floor plate. The polished bolt is numbered to the gun, cloverleaf tang, hooded front sight with textured ramp, filler block in place of the rear sight, and type two safety. A 2.5x Lyman Alaskan Scope is custom fitted on a Griffin & Howe mount fixed to the side of the receiver. The body only of a Lyman receiver mounted peep sight (no slide) is also attached with the remaining components absent to allow clearance for the scope. The Super Grade pistol grip stock has cut outs that fit tight around the scope and peep sight mounts and features multi-point checkering, ebony forend tip, hard rubber factory grip cap, cheekpiece, quick release sling swivel studs (swivels absent) and checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine. The rifle retains 95% of the original finish with some finish wear at the muzzle and on the buttplate and some minor scratches and marks throughout. The wood is very fine with scattered dings, crisp checkering and some minor scrapes, scratches, and dings throughout. Mechanically excellent.
