The upper tang is marked "WINCHESTER/-TRADE MARK-/-MADE IN U.S.A.-" and the serial number is on the underside of the receiver. The left side of the receiver is fitted with a Lyman 5A rear sight, and the factory barrel sight has been modified to act as a filler for the dovetail. Mounted on a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a serrated steel buttplate.

Very fine overall, 80% original finish, with scattered areas of thinning. Receiver has remaining areas aged to a satin grey patina primarily on the bottom, with some scattered rust spotting. Stock is very fine, with 90% original gloss finish, with minor pressure indentations, and several small dents along the forearm. Mechanically excellent.
