Red front and white mid-bead sights with leafy vine engraving on the top and sides of the breech, "ITHACA GUN CO." in a banner on the left and "ITHACA, N.Y. U.S.A." on the right, and the lug is marked "7" and "NITRO POWDER/PROVED" on the underside. The frame shows over 95% coverage of fine leafy scroll engraving with floral patterns on the screws, "MADE IN U.S.A." on the underside, "7/12" on the water table and the following gold inlays: a pair of ducks landing near a cat tail plant on the left, two standing pheasants on the right, an elk head on the trigger guard and an American Eagle with golden body and arrows and a silver head on the underside. Fitted with an extra-fancy fleur-de-lis checkered beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock with an ebony tip inlay and engraved hardware on the forearm, checkered side flats on the stock, ebony grip cap, a golden inscription shield on the underside and a Pachmayr solid recoil pad. Measurements: choke - modified, chamber - 3 inch, weight - 7 pounds 2 ounces, drop at comb -1 5/8 inches, drop at heel - 2 inches, length of pull - 13 7/8 inches to end of pad, 12 3/4 inches to end of wood.

Very fine as partially professionally refinished with 95% of the blue, also a few small areas of brown patina and mild handling marks. A coat of red paint has been applied to the front sight with some on the surrounding metal. 40% original case colors are present on the frame with the balance a smooth gray patina with sharp engraving and well detailed inlays. The stock is very good as modified; the pistol grip is a later addition which has been expertly mated to and checkered to match the original wood with the lower tang reshaped to match. A few dings are present on the wood with very attractive grain, a pair of initials scratched out of the shield, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
