In operation from 1885 to 1890, George Kynoch leased the arms factory of William Tranter following the latter's retirement. This revolver shows evidence of Tranter's influence by way of his double trigger revolver with several novel deviations: the second trigger is fully enclosed in the trigger guard and integrates a spring loaded latch allowing the revolver to be cocked in a single-action style without continued finger pressure or released without firing. Additionally, the design uses a top break mechanism with thumb-operated latch, allowing the weapon to be cleared for reloading with a single hand. Blade and notch sights, with "KYNOCH GUN FACTORY ASTON" on top of the barrel and "PATENT MODEL" on the top strap. Checkered upper trigger and smooth lower trigger with walnut grips and swiveling lanyard ring.

Good. The revolver shows a few traces of the original blue finish, with a mixed brown and gray patina overall, pitting around the cylinder and top strap, scattered dings and mild handling marks. The grip is good with some dents and some visible space between the wood and metal. Mechanically very good.
