Description:

Manufactured in 1913. Fixed sights, with the two line, two block Colt patents and address on the left side of the slide with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations and "MODEL OF 1911.U.S. ARMY." in serifed letters on the right. The "WGP" (Penfield) inspected frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the left side. Fitted with the long trigger, round top rear sight, wide checkered hammer, short grip safety, checkered slide stop and thumb safety and flat mainspring housing with lanyard staple. Checkered hardwood grips with diamond patterns around the screws and a "P" marked barrel.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 60% of the much faded original blue finish, showing areas of mixed brown and gray patina, bright rear along the high edges, and scattered spotting and handling marks. Grips are very good, with moderate wear, some light dings and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
