Description:

Manufactured in the 1860s. Fixed rib front and hammer notch rear sights, with a rotating recoil shield that blocks the hammer in loading position and locks out the loading gate in firing position. Marked "RUPERTUS' PAT PISTOL MFg Co/PHILADa" around the hammer screw on the right side of the frame and "RUPERTUS' PATENT/JULY 19Th 1864" around the hammer screw on the left side plate. Blue barrels, silver plated brass frame.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with traces of the original blue finish on the barrel cluster, concentrated in the lower areas, with a mixed gray patina overall. 50% of the original silver finish remains on the frame, lightly cleaned with some areas of darker patina and bright visible brass. Some light handling marks and spotting present overall, with some dings on the muzzles. Grips are good, slightly undersize, with some light scratches, Mechanically fine.
