Description:

This rifle has the mark "C.KEMPER" on the top of the barrel with German silver fox inlays on the wrist, a star shaped inlay on the cheek rest, and an ornate American eagle patch box. It features a blade front sight and a notch rear sight and double set triggers. It is fitted with a tiger striped maple full stock and includes a wooden ramrod. There is some light engraving on the lockplate. According to his son Marvin Kemper's website (he also makes Kentucky Rifles), Kemper began building Kentucky Rifles after returning from World War II. Muzzle Blasts magazine ran a full story on Kemper in February 2005. Some components may be repurposed from antique Kentucky Rifles.

Rating Definition:

Good. The barrel and lockplate have extensive oxidation and many of the inlays and the patchbox have a brown patina. The German silver inlays are bright with some golden patina and the brass trigger guard has an aged patina. The wood is fine with some dings, scratches, and marks. This Kentucky rifle has aged finely and appears old!
