Manufactured in 1894 and subsequently custom engraved and gold plated. Floral scroll with punch dot background adorn the barrel, outer edge of the ejector housing, frame, cylinder flats, trigger guard and back strap. There is a scalloped bordered geometric design on the top of the ejector housing. The underside of the ejector housing is signed "ENGRAVED BY SHANNON". The top of barrel is absent of the address, the left side is marked (restamped) "38-40" and the left side of the frame is marked with the two-line, three patent dates in a banner followed by the Rampant Colt in a round panel. All gold finish and fitted with smooth pearl grips.

Fine as custom embellished and refinished with 90% gold finish remaining showing some thinning on the muzzle, high spots and on the front strap. There is some pitting under the finish on the front sight and area around the front sight on the barrel. The grips are excellent. The markings and engraving are crisp. The action has a hair trigger and functions fine otherwise.
