Description:

Manufactured in 1908, this revolver features 90% coverage scroll engraving. The left side of the barrel is marked "45 COLT". The two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt are on the left side of the frame. The loading gate is marked "1", and the top strap is engraved "SKIP.KENYON". The serial number has been redone as part of the professional refinishing and is marked on the lower frame, trigger guard, and butt. It has a blade front and frame notch rear sights and is fitted with stag grips. The accompanying letter indicates that the revolver was originally finished blue and that it was one of ten guns shipped to the Copper Queen Consolidated Mining Company in Bisbee, Arizona on February 12, 1908. The mining company operated the Copper Queen Mine which was the most copper rich mine in Arizona and one of the better copper mines in the United States. The mine led to the creation of Bisbee which later became the sight of an infamous robbery that ended in a massacre, the legal hanging of several of those involved in the legendary mining town of Tombstone, and shortly afterwards the lynching of the only outlaw who had originally escaped the noose. It includes a Colt box with most of the label absent.

Rating Definition:

Very good as professionally refinished, remarked, and engraved. The soft nickel finish is mostly intact. The revolver has only a minor spot of finish wear on the right side of the hammer and some overall light handling/storage marks. Mechanically fine.
