This is a very fine original example of a Stevens Model 52 Schuetzen rifle with a heavy target weight half octagon barrel with a Globe front sight and no rear sight seat. Two-line Stevens marking on the top flat. Serial number on the round portion of the barrel in front of the forearm. .32-40 marked side flat. Scroll engraved 44 type action with a 6 o'clock extractor and bottom takedown screw. Double set triggers, pistol grip tang and 3 finger loop lever. Short range tang sight with windage and Hadley adjustable aperture. Front face of the action marked "52" and "O". Extra fancy American black walnut checkered pistol grip stock with cheekpiece and heavy casehardened steel Swiss buttplate. Checkered two-screw forearm with a Schnabel tip.

Extremely fine, 85% slightly faded original blue finish remains on the barrel with some thinning under the muzzle. 70% of the original case colors remain on the action with sharp engraving. The lever shows 50% original case colors with some edge wear. Excellent stock finish with moderate handling marks. Sharp checkering with a few minor dings. Very little case colors remain on the Swiss buttplate which has a gray patina. A very fine and highly desirable Stevens Model 52 Schuetzen rifle.
