Manufactured in 1946 (receiver) during the transition period (late 1945-51). It is chambered in the desirable 300 Savage, a special order caliber for the Model 70 series. Hooded ramp front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight on a barrel with the Winchester legend on the left side. Winchester factory style oval proof on the barrel and receiver and "-SUPER GRADE-" on the floor plate. The receiver is tapped for scope mounting at the front and sight mounting on the left rear side with a cloverleaf tang. Pre-war safety, solid bolt knob and quick release sling swivels. The nicely figured pistol grip stock features a straight comb, multi-point checkering, cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, Winchester hard rubber grip cap and checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The rifle retains nearly all of the blue finish showing the slightest handling marks. The stock is near mint with a couple minor handling and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
