Manufactured in 1953. It is chambered in 22 Hornet. Model 70 expert and author Dean Whitaker has stated that production status of standard Model 70 Featherweight rifles in .22 hornet is "unknown" but "possibly produced in very small numbers on a special-order or experimental basis." Hooded ramp front sight and adjustable folding leaf rear sight on a barrel marked with the Winchester legend on the left side. Receiver tapped for scope/sight mounting, straight receiver tang, polished bolt numbered to gun and sling swivels. The high comb pistol grip stock features checkering and a checkered aluminum buttplate.

Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The rifle retains nearly all of the blue finish showing a couple scuffs on the bolt handle. The stock is fine with moderately worn checkering. Mechanically excellent.
