Manufactured in 1956 (receiver). This combined configuration of featherweight and 257 Roberts caliber has yet to be catalogued and is listed on page 34 and 35 of Whitaker's book THE MODEL 70 as "production status unknown." Hooded ramp front sight and folding adjustable leaf rear sight on a barrel stamped with the Winchester legend on the left side. Winchester factory style oval proof on the barrel and receiver. The receiver is tapped for scope/sight mounting. Late safety, straight receiver tang, polished bolt numbered to gun and sling swivels. The high comb pistol grip stock features checkering and a checkered aluminum buttplate.

Very fine as refurbished/restored. The rifle retains 98% of the blue finish showing some speckling of patina on the floor plate and some flaking on the buttplate. The stock is near mint showing a couple minor handling marks with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
