Manufactured circa1840s in London by the James and Henry Wilkinson's firm Wilkinson & Son at 27 Park Mall. James Wilkinson took over his father-in-law Henry Nock's business upon his death in 1804. This percussion pistol features scroll engraving on the frame, hammers, trigger guard, buttcap and compartment door. The top of the barrel is engraved "WILKINSON & SON LONDON" with "crown/V" and "crown/GP" proofs on the left side of the lower barrel. The pistol features blade front and rear notch sights, a swivel style ram rod with two button head ends secured on the solid under rib, sliding hammer safeties, double triggers, a belt clip mounted by to screws on the left side, and is fitted with a one-piece finely checkered walnut grip with cap compartment in the butt and smooth initial plate below the upper tang.

Very good. The pistol retains traces of the case colors with an otherwise mottled bright gray patina. The grip is fine with only light wear. The action is fine, but the safeties are at present inoperable.
