Massive Unidentified 21-Round Revolving Gun

Manufacturer: Unknown
Model: Double Action Revolver
Type: Revolver
Gauge: 56
Barrel: 7 3/4 inch round
Finish: brown
Grip: metal
Stock:
Item Views: 2391
Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 72
Class: Antique
Description:

Produced by an unknown gunsmith and weighing in at 15 pounds 11.4 ounces, this very large revolver has so far defied attempts at identification; the only clues so far are some German "crown/letter" proofs on the barrel and frame, an illegible marking on the front of the barrel lug, and "9,2 N.G.P. M/71" on the cylinder. The interior section of the cylinder has been dished out to reduce weight, a short (possibly cosmetic) bag shaped pistol grip is present on the rear, and a trip bar with eye hole for line mounting is connected to the trigger. While the provision for a firing line suggests a trap gun, a multi-shot assembly is highly unusual for such a device, and the mass of the revolver is well beyond what a human could be expected to handle unsupported.

Rating Definition:

Fair with a moderately pitted mixed dark brown patina overall, scattered pitting, and a few dented/absent small parts. Mechanically needs work in order to function.
