Description:

Introduced in 1881 and also known as the 44 Double Action First Model. Fixed sights with the two line address/patent dates on top of the barrel, matching serial numbers on the barrel, latch, cylinder and butt. The revolver features rarely observed factory scroll and punch dot engraving on the barrel, cylinder, and frame. Casehardened hammer and trigger, blued trigger guard, and a phenomenal pair of carved mother of pearl grips, smooth on the left panel and the right panel showing a carved eagle in flight with an American flag in it's talons.

Rating Definition:

Fine with traces of the original blue finish, concentrated in the protected areas, and a mixed brown patina, scattered spotting and mild handling marks. Traces of the original case colors are present on the hammer and trigger, the balance having silvered out. The grips are good with a few tiny chips and strong detail on the eagle. Mechanically very good.
