A) Smith & Wesson Double Action Frontier Revolver

Description:

Manufactured circa 1886-1899, with a fixed half-moon blade front sight and notch rear sight, the two line address and patent markings on top of the rib (changed in 1900), and the matching serial number on the barrel, barrel latch, cylinder, and butt. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with S&W monograms.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver retains 75% of the original finish with a gray-brown patina on the exposed surfaces and 60% of the case colors retained on the hammer and trigger. The grips are also very good with only faint marks and have faded from black to a dark chocolate brown tone. Mechanically excellent with clearly legible markings.

Description:

The serial number has been scratched off the butt. Fitted with smooth pearl grips.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver retains 40% of the original finish with gray and brown patina on the balance. There are a series of scratches behind the recoil shield on the left, and on the butt which also has an angled groove. Some traces of case colors are visible on the trigger. The grips are very good with some scratches and light aging. The revolver is mechanically excellent with clear markings.
