This variation of the 38 Double Action was manufactured between 1895-1909. The top of the barrel rib is stamped with the two line address/patent dates marking, caliber marking on left barrel side and S&W trademark on right of the frame. It is nickel plated with a casehardened hammer and trigger, blued trigger guard, and fitted with checkered S&W monogram grips. The matching serial number is marked on the butt, rear cylinder face, barrel, and barrel latch. It has a round pinned blade front sight and latch notch rear sight. Includes a correct factory box with orange label and "DIRECTIONS FOR USE" on the inside of the lid.

Excellent. The revolver retains 95% plus of the original nickel with some spotting, a light drag line on the cylinder, and light handling/storage marks.98% plus of the original deep case colors are retained on the hammer and trigger. The original blue on the trigger guard has 98% remaining as well with one small spot of finish absent. The oversize replacement grips are fine. The box has some minor storage wear.

Manufactured from 1907 to 1940, this revolver falls late in the serial range for the 4th Model but has the distinguishing integral blade sight of the 5th Model. The matching serial number is stamped on the butt, rear cylinder face, barrel and barrel latch (partial). The rib is marked with the one line address while the S&W monogram is stamped on the right side of the frame. Features include a grip safety, casehardened trigger, blue trigger guard, and pearl grips. With correct factory box and directions label on the inside of the lid. Includes a letter from Westchester Court House dated May 14th, 1926 explaining to a "Miss Ridgway" that her pistol permits are valid. Pistol permits from 1922 for a Mary R. Ridgway and a Clara Ridgway are also included in the box.

Very fine. The revolver retains 90% of the original nickel plating with only light spotting overall and some light scratches. Nearly all of the original deep case colors remain on the trigger with 98% plus original blue finish retained on the trigger guard. The grips are very fine with only a small imperfection on the top of the right grip panel and otherwise minor handling/storage marks. The box is good with some storage and corner wear.
