Signed by engraved script on the barrel, "ROTHWELL, Manchester" (1780-1820). The main tube measures 32 inches long, and is mounted on a pivot atop a rotatable pillar with folding cabriole legs. The focus is by internal rack and pinion and the elevation may be adjusted by a rack and pinion rear strut. The telescope is complete with both a swinging eyepiece shutter and the objective lens cover.

Very good, showing a mixed antique patina on the brass, with a few dings on the tube and mild handling marks overall. Optics appear to be in good order.
