Manufactured in 1884, the first year of production. This Deluxe rifle features a folding Beach combination front and adjustable semi buck horn rear sights, with a tang mounted short range peep sight. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/patent dates ahead of the rear sight and "44Cal." at the breech. The left side of the receiver has the Rampant Colt and the serial number is marked on the lower tang. All blue finish with a casehardened hammer and mounted with extra fancy multi-point checkered highly figured walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Very fine. The rifle retains 50% plus original blue finish mixed with a smooth brown patina. The wood is excellent with a few scattered minor dents and dings, with crisp checkering. The action functions fine, but the release in the forward trigger guard lacks retention spring. The markings are crisp.
