Description:

This clock was produced circa 1880-1929 by the Ansonia Clock Company on orders from Winchester as a display and advertising item. It has hardwood construction. The clock measures 16 inches across with gold paint accents, a white face, and black numbers in the traditional "1" through "12" pattern. The center of the face bears the Winchester markings (see image). The Ansonia label is present on the back of the case. Founded in Connecticut circa 1851 and moved to New York in 1878, Ansonia fell on hard times just before the Great Depression and sold it's machinery to the Soviet Union in 1929. The Ansonia name was revived in 1969, and the hardware formed the nucleus of the Soviet state timekeeping industry.

Rating Definition:

Very good showing some mild wear and handling marks. The lower door has been repaired, and some minor wear is visible on the main door. Mechanically fine.
