This is an exceptional example of an early "S" code Krieghoff P.08 Luger pistol that was manufactured in 1935. The pistol has the early features such as the "H/K" markings on each side of the anchor with only the word "SUHL" marked below. The bottom of the anchor is symmetrical with the anchor tips which nearly touch the outer edge of the "H" and "K" letters. The word "SUHL" is slightly slanted to the right with a flat bottom on the letter "U". The full serial number "1384" is stamped on the front of the frame and left side of the barrel extension, and the last two digits "84" are on the side plate, front and rear toggle assembly, trigger and takedown lever. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with the early LWaA 1st-Stage Luftwaffe acceptance proof followed by the Luftwaffe test proof and small "Eagle/2" proof. The underside of the barrel is marked with the bore diameter and the early "Eagle/2" acceptance proof. The pistol is fitted with the early pattern checkered walnut grips. They are correctly unnumbered or proofed and have a smooth back side. It is fitted with a nickel plated magazine with the aluminum base stamped with serial number "1384" across the center with the upside down "eagle/2" Krieghoff proof over the serial number.

Excellent with 95% of the original blue finish overall with light wear and finish loss on the high spots overall and with some pin-prick spotting on the right side very edge of the barrel extension, the side plate hump with some thinning in the center of the backstrap. Straw colors remain 80% intact. The walnut grips are also in excellent condition with nice, distinct checkering overall with light wear across the tops and minimal handling marks. An exceptional, all original, early production Krieghoff P.08 Luger pistol with all matching serial numbers.
