This is an exceptional example of a very late production DWM Model 1900 "American Eagle" commercial Luger pistol. These pistols were the true first commercial contract Luger pistols produced by DWM and can be found in the 2000-20000 serial number range with this specific pistol produced in the later portion of the production run. These pistols were specifically intended for sales in the U.S. market, (hence the use of the American Eagle symbol on top of the chamber area) and have the DWM markings on the front toggle. This pistol has all the early desirable Luger features such as: the early long frame, dished toggles with toggle lock on the right side, recessed breechblock, 4 3/4 inch fast tapered barrel, grip safety, and no stock lug. They have superb hand fitted parts with the beautiful, pre-war, high polish, rust blued finish with straw colored small parts and checkered walnut grips. The lower safety area is unmarked and brightly polished. It is correctly serial numbered in the commercial fashion with the serial number (15063) stamped under the barrel and on the front of the frame which is also marked "GERMANY". It is complete with one magazine with the nickel plated body and the unnumbered wooden base with an "H" proof on the edge of the base.

Excellent plus with 98% plus of the original blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear. The various smaller parts retain 90% of their straw colors overall. The walnut grips are also in excellent plus condition with nice sharp distinct checkering overall with only a couple handling marks. Mechanically excellent. A truly outstanding, high condition DWM Model 1900 American Eagle Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol.
