Description:

Halfer made visored cap with markings for Luftwaffe Fallschirmjager Regiment 1, Stab II, inside the sweatband. A component of the First Fallschirmjaeger Division, the 1st Regiment participated in the invasions of Denmark, Crete, and the Soviet Union and the defense of Italy. In February of 1944, the First Fallschirmjaeger Division was sent to defend Monte Cassino against the Allies advance to Rome. During the battle the division sustained heavy losses and stopped the Allied advance until May 1944. Pre-war quality cap with body of blue grey wool, black mohair cap band, golden yellow wool piping, orange colored lining, full celluloid sweat shield with Halfar makers mark and size 58, Dated 1939. Full leather sweatband, stamped aluminum eagle insignia original to the cap, leather chinstrap. Complete and fully intact.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with a few small tears on the sweatband and light handling marks overall.
