This is a fine original example of a "Krieghoff" P.08 Luger that was manufactured in 1936. During this year it is estimated that approximately 2900 pistols in total were manufactured with the full "1936" year markings, as noted this example is complete with the original capture papers, dated May 1946. Krieghoff was the primarily supplier to the Luftwaffe during WWII and they are prized for their fine fit and finish. As noted this has the "1936" dated chamber with the front toggle marked with the C-1, 1936 pattern "H, anchor, K/KRIEGHOFF/SUHL", where the "Krieghoff" name runs from the full left side to the right side of the top of the toggle. The left side of the barrel extension has the serial number on the frame and the right side has the "Krieghoff Eagle/2, Eagle firing proof and Eagle/2 proof". The right side of the barrel also has the same "Eagle/2" proof. The underside of the barrel has the bore diameter and the correct serial number "6748" but with a much smaller size and style of serial numbers. It is fitted with the correct WWII Krieghoff fine checkered brown plastic grips with the smooth borders. It is complete with two matching nickel plated magazines with the aluminum bases correctly marked on each base with a single inverted Luftwaffe "Eagle/2" proof over serial number "6748". These Lugers have the distinctive Krieghoff high polish blue finish with the straw colored small parts. This Luger is complete with an early unmarked brown commercial military style with a single "Eagle/2" proofmark on the inside against the back part of the holster, and a correct "Eagle/2" proofed take down tool.

Fine condition with 60% of the original blue finish overall showing wear on the edges and high spots, with the grip straps showing a gray patina mixed with some oxidation. The grips are in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering on both sides with only minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The holster is in fine condition with a nice even original medium brown color overall with tight stitching showing only minor handling marks and scratches, with a clear distinct "Eagle/2" Luftwaffe proof.
