Manufactured by Colt in 1941. Nearly all of the early Service Model Ace pistols were utilized by the U.S. Navy. The pistol has a high polish blue finish and checkered walnut grips. The slide is fitted with the correct matt-finished Ellison rear sight and target front sight. The barrel has the "floating chamber" that distinguishes the Service Model Ace from the earlier production Colt Ace pistols. The base of the main spring housing is correctly not fitted with a lanyard loop. The pistol has a "two-tone" magazine with blued floor plate. The left side of the frame is stamped with the boxed "R.S." final ordnance inspection mark. The right side of the slide and magazine floor plate have the distinctive "SERVICE MODEL ACE" markings.

Fine as refinished with most of the dark reblued finish, small scratches on the slide, and a small rub mark on front sight blade. The grips are very fine with crisp, well defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.
