Description:

Starting life as a receiver made by Union Switch and Signal that was transferred to the Quality Hardware Company to be built into a full M1 Carbine, this is one of a limited group of M1's bearing the truncated (and unfortunate sounding) "UN-QUALITY" dual makers mark behind the rear sight. Fitted with a "RIA" marked blade front sight and "PI" adjustable rear sight, "1-41" Underwood barrel, flat bolt, milled "Z" trigger guard, ""EW"" button safety, "W" magazine catch and a shortened 5-round magazine. With a low wood "paratrooper" stock, 4-rivet handguard, crossed canon cartouche on the right side of the grip, green canvas sling, leather cheekpiece, oiler and properly marked cast buttplate. Also included is a green canvas paratrooper belt pouch, hand-marked "HARRIAN/44" on the inside. A unique carbine assembled at an arsenal during the rebuild process where the luck-of-the-draw netted the rarest maker of MI Carbines during World War II; quite unique!

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished, showing 90% of the parkerized finish, with some scattered spotting and handling marks. The stock is also very fine, with some dents and scuffs. Mechanically excellent. The canvas items are very good.
