Description:

This is a late WWII Springfield Armory M1 Garand rifle that has been fitted/converted into a M1D sniper rifle using the special barrel with scope block. The right side of the barrel is marked: "S-A-1-52", with no other proofs except for a medium size "SAMCO/Miami Fla" import stamp on the underside of the barrel. The rifle itself has mix of WWII and later SA marked parts with a modified WWII operating rod. It is fitted with a walnut stock and handguard set with the pistol grip area of the stock is stamped with one circled and one uncircled "P" proof marks indicating the stock had been inspected one and then after overhaul, with no other proof marks. The barrel is fitted with a M2 marked flash hider. The stock is fitted with a leather cheekpiece that is marked on the right side, "MRT/5-52". The rifle does not comes with any scope or scope mount and is complete with only the leather cheekpiece and canvas sling and the flash hider as noted above. The rifle has No Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) documentation and appears to be an over seas, assembled rifle.

Rating Definition:

Arsenal refurbished with 90% of the refurbished/reparkerized finish remaining overall. The stock is also in very good condition with a oil finish on the arsenal refurbished stock. Mechanically excellent. A nice example of a M1D sniper rifle.
