The included letter confirms that this carbine was received by the warehouse on June 12, 1906 and shipped on July 18, 1906 in 30 WCF with a special order shotgun buttstock with one other firearm as part of order number 57952. It features a blade front sight and notched rear sight with two folding leaves. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address and patent information followed by the "WP" proofmark in front of the rear sight and "NICKEL STEEL BARREL/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER " below the sight with "30 W.C.F." at the breech with the proofmark on frame at the breech. The upper tang is marked with the model and trademark information, and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. There is a saddle ring mounted on the left side of the frame. It is mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip shotgun buttstock with a flat steel buttplate.

Very good. The carbine retains 30% plus of the original finish with some blue finish remaining on the frame, some case colors visible on the lever, and some finish thinning on the barrel. There is a gray/brown patina on the exposed surfaces. There are some scratches on the right side of the frame ahead and behind of the loading gate and on the left side above the lever and various minor scratches and marks throughout. The revarnished wood is good with four grooves carved into the bottom of the forearm, varnish absent on parts of the forearm and buttstock, and various marks, dings, scratches, and dents throughout.
