Manufactured in late 1917. This pistol has the square butt, slide lock on the left side of the slide, Lanyard swivel and eight-round magazine that distinguish it from the Colt Model 1902 "Sporting" pistol. Features rear slide serrations, blue barrel and two-tone magazine marked "MIL./COLT/38CAL." on the bottom. Left side of the slide is marked with the standard two-block two-line patent dates and Hartford address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. Standard two line caliber markings on the right side of the slide. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with a "I" assembler's mark on the lower rear and the Colt "VP/triangle" proofmark on the front top. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in a banner at the top and the Rampant Colt in a circle in the center.

Excellent. The pistol retains 90% plus original blue finish with some thinning and edge wear on the slide, and some scattered light spotting. The grips are also excellent with very crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
