This Winchester Model 1894 Sporting Rifle manufactured in 1911 has a full octagon barrel and full-length magazine. The barrel has a sporting style front sight with a three leaf rear sight. The stock and forearm are straight grain American walnut. The left barrel flat is roll-stamped with the two-line legend "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED AUGUST 21. 1894." ahead of the rear sight and "-NICKEL STEEL BARREL-/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" on the left side of the barrel behind the rear sight. The caliber "30 W.C.F." is stamped on the left barrel flat at the breech. The upper tang is roll-stamped: "MODEL 1894/-WINCHESTER-/TRADEMARK REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF." The serial number is marked across the bottom of the receiver. It is fitted with an oil finished straight wrist stock and forearm with plain forend cap.

Good. The rifle retains 30% of the faded original finish with nearly all finish remaining on the barrel and magazine aside from the bright edge wear and a mottled gray/brown patina on the exposed metal with various minor dings, scratches, and marks and some minor pitting on the receiver. The forearm and stock are contrasting in color and are also good with some minor marks, dings, and scratches.
