Description:

This is a later WWII production version of the original Beretta Model 38A. Basically this version did away with the perforated barrel jacket and instead had a smooth slightly heavier barrel of approximately 11.0 inches in length with an integral muzzle break on the end of the barrel. They used the simple stamped sheet metal receiver with a welded on magazine and trigger housings with fixed front and rear sight. It has a machined bolt and barrel with the barrel having a threaded collar that was held in place with a single cross-pin, all very similar in design concept to the MP40 and STEN, submachine guns. One unique aspect of this weapons is that it has a double trigger assembly; with the front trigger firing the weapon in a single shot mode with the rear trigger firing it in a fully automatic mode. It has an Italian walnut stock and comes complete with one 20 round stick magazine. This weapon is currently registered with the BATF as a class III/NFA SMG, however it has been deactivated by brazing a plug in the chamber area of the barrel.

Rating Definition:

Fine as deactivated with 60% of the blue finish overall with wear and thinning on the side of the receiver. The stock is also in fine condition having minor handling marks on the side of the stock with a larger age crack on the eh left side running along the grain of the wood. NOTE: This item is restricted as a National Firearms Act (NFA), Fully Automatic Weapon that is currently registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (BATF&E) that has been classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
