This is a fine example of a standard WWII Mauser Luger pistol as manufactured in 1942. The chamber is dated "42" and the toggle is marked "byf", the war time code for the Mauser factory. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with a German firing proof and two "eagle/135" proofs. The firing proof is marked on the right rear of the barrel and an "eagle/135" on the left. The front of the frame and left side of the barrel extension are marked with serial number "3609" with the left side of the frame marked with "P.08". The underside of the barrel is marked with only the serial number "3609" with no other markings. It has the last two digits (09) stamped on the various smaller parts. It is fitted with black checkered plastic grips, stock lug on the back strap and has the correct blue "fxo", "P08" marked blue magazine with black plastic base. This model has the dark salt blue/black finish on all the parts.

Very fine as partially refinished (cold blue on sideplate and muzzle) with 85% plus of the original blue finish on the balance with wear on the edges and grip straps. The plastic grips are in very fine condition with good checkering on both sides with handling marks along the edges of the grips and minor pressure dents on the right side grip. Mechanically excellent.
