Description:

Originally manufactured in 1917 as a Model 1914 Luger, this pistol was subjected to a post-War overhaul, which included the installation of a standard Luger barrel and fixed rear sight, as well as a set of magazine well and sear safeties. Marked "1917" on the chamber, with "DWM" on the toggle. The extension has three "crown/gothic letter" proofs and an Imperial firing proof, with the barrel marked "eagle/6" and "OV/eagle" in addition to the number "5". Excluding the barrel and magazine, external numbers match. With straw finished small parts, niter blue springs and pins, blue magazine with a hardwood base and checkered grips. With a black leather flap holster marked "JULIUS ARNADE/MOYS/1916" inside the flap.

Rating Definition:

Very good as arsenal refurbished, with 80% of the faded blue, showing areas of brown and gray patina, mild spotting and scattered handling marks. 30% of the original straw color remains, with some bright areas and spotting. Grips are very good, with light dents. Holster is fair, with scuffs and dings. The magazine safety has been disabled and the hold-open needs adjustment, otherwise mechanically very good.
