Description:

This is a rare example of a very late production Baby Nambu pistol that was manufactured by the Tokyo Gas and Electric (TG&E) factory in Tokyo with all matching numbers. The chamber bears the circled "TG&E" proof with the Kanji makings on the right side of the upper receiver over the serial number (6051). The matching serial number (6051) is also visible on the underside of the bolt, the cocking knob, the complete firing pin/striker assembly and the back side of each grip panel. The magazine has a nickel-plated body with an extruded aluminum base that is numbered "6051/." As noted this rare pistol is complete with second pattern soft-sided leather holster that has the standard ammunition pouch on the upper front part of the holster. Originally these pistols had a high quality rust blue finish with straw colored small parts and the bolt retaining an overall bright finish. The grips are finely checkered hardwood. These pistols were produced from 1909 to approximately 1923, and it is estimated that only about 550 pistols were ever produced by TG&E; fewer than fifty are known to date.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 90% plus of the original blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear with very minor thinning on the grip straps mixed with some browning. The grips are in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering on both sides mixed with some light wear across the tops of the checkering. The various small parts retain 70% of their straw colors overall. The holster is in fair condition with a nice original dark brown color overall with wear and finish loss on the front of the holster from actual use with good intact stitching overall with the lower brass stud for the closure tab pulled through. However, the actual brass stud and leather back is located inside the ammunition pouch. A very nice example of a rare TG&E Baby Nambu pistol rig with all matching numbers including one magazine.
