This rifle was brought back by an American Veteran of the Vietnam War and not as an import. Receiver, barrel, gas tube, magazine, trigger guard, and trigger are blue, with a matte gray bolt. Front sight is a hooded post, rear is a graduated ladder marked to 1000 meters. Mounted with the second version folding spike bayonet, found on models with serial numbers exceeding 10,000,000. Stock is lacquered hardwood, with a thumb grooved forearm, and ventilated wood handguard. Buttplate is smooth steel, with a spring loaded one way trapdoor, concealing the bore brush, and other cleaning tools, full length cleaning rod is mounted below the barrel, and secured by the bayonet. Includes original leather and canvas sling.

Excellent plus, as-issued, with 99% original finish, and minimal handling marks. Some thinning of the original blue finish is present, concentrated at the muzzle. Stock is excellent, with crisp stamping, and minor sling marks. Mechanically excellent. One will look a very long time to find a better Vietnam War Era SKS!
