Description:

The exact rifle, serial number 2, is pictured on page 243 of THE GUNS OF REMINGTON and was produced in 1903. Remington manufactured approximately 1,446 of these sporting rifles. Marked "REMINGTON ARMS Co. ILION. N.Y. U.S.A." on top of the left receiver rail followed by the serial number, "NRA" and "PATENTED AUG. 26th 1884, SEPT. 9th 1884. MARCH 17th 1885, JAN. 18th 1887." on the left side of the receiver. Blade front and adjustable rear sights graduated to 2000 yards. All blue finish and mounted with cut down, straight wrist stock with a single barrel band marked "U", sling rings, and a smooth buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine as modified with a refinished, cut down stock. The rifle retains 90% of the blue finish with excellent finish retention on the barrel, some finish absent on the action and trigger guard, and minor wear and marks overall. The buttplate has a gray patina with some oxidation. The stock has various minor marks and dings
