Description:

This is a very fine example of a 1917 dated Steyr-Hahn Model 1911 semi-automatic pistol. The Steyr Hahn was originally introduced as a commercial pistol that was later adopted by the Austro-Hungarian, Romanian, and Chilean militaries. The left side of frame and slide are serial numbered "4961s" and is marked "STEYR 1917" on the rear of the slide. It is also marked with the large "S" towards the rear of the slide along with a small letter "K" on the frame, slide, follower, extractor hammer, and safety lever. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips and is complete with an original black leather military holster. The inside flap has several unreadable ink stamps along with an unreadable makers ink stamp. The original shoulder straps have been removed as they were converted to double leather belt loops that have been attached with steel rivets.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 85% plus of the blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear and small areas of very light pin-prick type oxidation/pitting on the right side of the slide and frame. The grips are also very fine with nice sharp checkering overall and some minor handling marks on the edges. Mechanically excellent. The holster is good having been redyed to a black color with nice solid stitching overall and modified as noted above.
