The lock plate of this hunting gun is marked "Hollis & Sheath" in script ahead of the hammer and has a single bead front sight. It has light scroll engraving on the lockplate, trigger guard, and on the breech with some fill on the engraving on the breech of the barrel indicating that other areas may have originally been filled. The barrel of this gun was likely cut down in period and has a muzzle opening measuring at approximately 7/8 of an inch or 8 Bore. The straight grip half stock has checkering at the wrist and a brass initial oval. The front piece on the right side of the forend is absent. Includes a wooden ramrod.

Rating Definition:

About good with a period shortened barrel. The shotgun has a brown patina with oxidation overall. Most of the engraving and markings are clear with some fill remaining at the breech of the barrel. The wood is fine with sharp checkering and various marks, dings, scratches, and dents. Mechanically fine.
