This flintlock pistol has an unmarked round brass barrel with a flared blunderbuss or "dragon" style muzzle. The lock plate has light engraving at the end and is faintly marked "HEATH", possibly denoting a gunsmith from Heath & Brueton of Birmingham or Heath & Hurdd of London c. 1765-1770s. No other markings are found. It has an iron ramrod with button head and brass ramrod tube, trigger guard (one screw absent), side plate, and buttplate. It is fitted on a nicely figured walnut stock pinned with a round raised section at the breech and a stepped down forend.

About good. The brass components have an attractive aged finish with some scratches and marks. The lock and tang remain bright with some pitting and patina forming. There are some traces of braising on the rear of the lock plate. The ramrod is a mixture of pitting and bright iron. The revarnished wood is fair with two large repaired breaks on the wrist, some chips and wear above the cock, and various minor dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
