Manufactured in 1897 and fitted with a beaded blade front sight, adjustable sporting rear sight (elevator absent) and a smooth walnut forearm and straight wrist stock. It has standard Marlin markings.

Good. The rifle has a heavy brown patina over most of the metal surfaces mixed with oxidation and some patches of pitting. The are strong case colors on the protected areas of the action. The wood is also good with mild handling wear, moderate scratches and scrapes, a few minor pressure marks and a couple of strike type marks. The action is fine. Some of the markings are partially obscured by surface corrosion but most are legible.
