A) Marlin Model 1889 Rifle

Description:

Manufactured in 1893 with a Rocky Mountain blade front sight, adjustable sporting rear sight, standard Marlin markings, and smooth stock and forearm. The upper tang is tapped for peep sight mounting.

Rating Definition:

Fine as partially refinished (wood). The balance of the rifle retains 70% plus of the original blue. The lever and hammer have traces of original case colors. The balance has silver brown patina. There are some areas of light spotting and various minor marks. The wood is fine as sanded and re-oiled and has a few small dings and scratches. The action functions very well, and the markings are crisp.

Manufactured circa 1898 with the standard markings and features, Rocky mountain blade front sight, and an adjustable sporting rear sight.

Rating Definition:

Very good as partially refinished (wood). 30% of the faded original blue finish and case colors remain, and the balance displays gray or brown patina. There are areas of light surface oxidation. The sanded and revarnished wood is good with some minor marks and scratches. The action functions very well, and the marking are crisp.
