Description:

Manufactured circa 1896 to 1916 on the 44 1/2 action. Hooded globe front sight, Stevens Best windgauge and elevating tang sight with a Hadley cup disc aperture, and two scope blocks on the barrel, which is marked with the two-line address on the upper right flat, "22 SHORT" on the upper left and "1" on the underside. The frame is finely casehardened with "47" stamped on the front. Smooth pistol grip stock, Schnabel tip forearm and Stevens #3 Swiss buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% plus original blue finish remaining, showing areas a light edge wear, minor dings and scattered surface scratches. The frame shows 95% original vibrant case colors with some light edge wear and general handling marks. The wood is also very fine with scattered small indentations, minor scratches and general handling marks. Scope blocks added (see above). Mechanically excellent. This rifle appears nearly unused.
