Description:

Stevens introduced the tip-up rifles in the 1870s and discontinued them around 1895. They were offered with a variety of sights and fittings. This example has an windgage adjustable globe front sight, rear sight altered partial sight filler block, a Vernier peep sight, smooth select walnut forearm with Schnabel style tip, and a smooth, straight wrist buttstock with Swiss buttplate. The action and buttplate are nickel, and the remaining components are blue or niter blue. It has standard markings including matching serial numbers on the action and barrel.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 95% of the nickel finish and 90% faded blue finish remains with some areas of light spotting and minor scratches. The wood is very fine with only some slight dings and a few superficial scratches. The action functions fine. The barrel markings are partially obscured, but the other markings are legible.
