Description:

This 19th century classic American long rifle is unmarked aside from "Lemoyne" in script on the lightly engraved lock possibly indicating the rifle originates from Lemoyne Township in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, where gunmaker John Neeper was listed in the early 19th century. It features a Rocky Mountain style blade front sight, notch rear sight, double set triggers, grip extension trigger guard, and a full length walnut stock with brass and German silver furniture, an ornate patch box, and a wooden ramrod.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The iron surfaces have a mix of gray and brown patina along with some pitting and oxidation particularly at the breech. The brass has an aged patina. The refinished wood is fine with a few minor cracks and repairs and minor handling and storage marks. The action functions if the trigger is set before the hammer is cocked.
