Only an estimated 3,000 No. 2 revolvers were manufactured between around 1877 to 1885. Most show significant signs of use. This example is in outstanding, near factory new condition and includes a green box with adhered directions for use on the inside, "FULL PLATE." and "NO. 2 32 CAL." in purple on the bottom, and several hand markings including "242" in pencil. The matching serial number is marked on the lower and upper frame components under the left grip panel. The rib is marked with the address and Smoot patent information It has blade and top strap notch sights and checkered grips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus, in original box with 98% plus of the original finish remaining including the case colors on the hammer and nitre blue on the trigger. There are only light handling and storage marks throughout and a few slight patches of faint pitting on the face of the cylinder. The grips are near new with crisp checkering and only slight aging. The action functions perfectly. The box is very good with only mild wear from storage. This is definitely the finest New Model No. 2 revolvers we have offered at auction!.
