Marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, N.Y." on top of the barrel rib. The Type II was manufactured from 1888 to 1911. Blade front sight and notch rear sight on hinged tip-up barrel with manual extractor. Smooth spur trigger and checkered hammer with mobile firing pin. The grips are checkered hard rubber on a bird's head butt. Included with the gun is a brown leatherette cardboard box with a white "Double Derringer" label on one end, waxed paper on the inside, and "FORM 15-A./ Remington Double Derringer/ BLUED./ Remington Arms Company,/ ILION, N.Y. U.S.A." markings on the inside of the lid with the printed instructions and "8/11/9" in pencil.

Excellent with 90% of the bright original blue finish, an even brown patina (strongest on the frame), bright edge wear concentrated at the muzzles and mild handling marks overall. Grips are excellent with minor dents. Box is fine with wear along the high edges, a few small tears, some loss of the end label and excellent inner markings. Mechanically crisp. This is an excellent example of a high conditioned Remington derringer with hard to find original box.
